Traumatic Stress Treatment Training: Foundations for Clinicians

This live training provides mental health clinicians with a clear and practical foundation for working effectively with traumatic stress. This course integrates core trauma-informed care principles with evidence-based strategies drawn from EMDR and TF-CBT, offering tools that can be immediately applied in everyday clinical practice. Clinicians will deepen their understanding of how trauma impacts psychological and physiological functioning while learning practical techniques to support regulation, safety, and stabilization. The training also emphasizes culturally responsive and LGBTQ+-affirming care, supporting clinicians in adapting trauma treatment to diverse identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences. The live Zoom format allows for real-time engagement while remaining efficient and accessible.

Instructor
Sharon Cova Zamora, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with nine years of clinical experience across all levels of care, including Residential Treatment, IOP/PHP, and Outpatient settings. Born and raised in Venezuela, Sharon brings a global and culturally grounded perspective to her clinical work and teaching. She has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and culturally responsive care, and integrates these approaches to support healing that is both evidence-based and safe. Her work is informed by a deep commitment to trauma-informed practice, cultural knowledge, and the understanding that effective trauma treatment must be responsive to each client’s social, cultural, and lived experience.
